Magnetron Sputtering for Thin Film Coating

All right... I put up something which I am usually working with. In fact, I initially built up this gadget in the lab. This is called Magnetron Sputtering system for thin film coating. Radio frequency (RF) plasma (Argon gas) is generated and gives rise to this beautiful blue purple light. Ions and electrons are concentrated and combated on the target material by a magnetic field. Sound complicated? Well, it is in fact a very common tool for thin film coating. Nothing special... Though no top secret here, I put up this photo without permission.
